ImageHarrisburg Rotary Club President elect Karen Snider, Chief U.S. Probation Officer Tony Havrilla and Deputy Chief Probation Officer Drew Thompson told us about the Federal Court-Assisted Reentry (C.A.R.E.) program, which assists offenders in making a successful transition from life in prison to life in the community. The court’s reentry program serves individuals who have already been convicted and incarcerated. The implicit goal is to reduce recidivism among participants and improve public safety through the use of judicial oversight,. In Harrisburg, Rotarians are serving as mentors to program participants, and mentors are being sought in our region.
