ImageTimothy Genetti will be installed as the 94th President of the Rotary Club of Hazleton at the annual President’s Party to be held at the Valley Country Club on June 25.

Tim has been a member of the Rotary Club of Hazleton since 1999 when he was sponsored for membership by Rotarian Bill Genetti.  Genetti’s Rotary activities have included service as a member of the Board of Directors, Vice President, President-Elect, Beerfest Chairman, DUI SIMulator Project Chairman and he initiated and chaired the Children’s Holiday Shopping Spree Project among others.

 

“It is an honor to be able to serve as the Hazleton Rotary President.  Our Rotary Club has a long history of helping people, especially students, in the Greater Hazleton Area.” Tim Says.  “This year’s Rotary International theme is “Light Up Rotary.”  Its meaning comes from a Chinese proverb that says it is better to light one small candle then to curse the darkness.  The Hazleton Rotary Club will continue to light up candles with a variety of projects.  We will provide a dictionary to every third grader in the area, a new winter coat and a Holiday shopping trip for children in need and our college scholarships.  These are just some of the projects planned for this year.”

Tim was born and raised in Hazleton and is a Boston College undergrad, as well as, Boston University MBA.  He is involved in his family’s commercial real estate business.  He also serves on the Can Do and Hazleton Area Public Library Board of Directors.  He is married to Michelle and they have two sons.  Stephen is studying at the University of Pittsburgh and Douglas is a sophomore at MMI Preparatory School.

Mr. Genetti officially takes over the reins of the club on July 1.  Other officers and Board members will be: Ron Avellino, President-Elect;   Pat Ward, Vice President;  Bernie Rudegeair, Secretary; Antonia Frumkin, Recording Secretary; Pat Owens, Jr., Treasurer; Eugenio Sosa, Sergeant at Arms; and John Madden, Immediate Past President.  Members of the Board will be Fred Attick, Donna Barna, John Beltrami, Reverend Tom Cvammen, Sharon Farver, DeAnn Miller and Alan Whitaker.
