Nearly 80 area veterans were honored at a special luncheon, sponsored by our Hazleton Rotary, Wednesday to thank them for their service. Kudos to Kathie Oh and Jason Brenner for their hard work. Special thanks to the Wilkes University ROTC for their participation in the program.







Congratulations to our very own Hazleton Rotarian Rosanna Gabriel for receiving the Athena Award from the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce! Rosanna will be honored at the Chamber Annual meeting in May.

RYLA is held at Keystone College in Northeastern PA. It is a 5-day, 4-night leadership program for high school sophomores who have shown leadership potential in their home, school, and community. The conference is designed to introduce participants to thoughts and ideas which will strengthen and develop their leadership skills. It also provides an environment where participants may discuss and exchange their ideas with other students from NEPA.

Applications for The 2025 Arthur and Eileen Whitaker Memorial Trade Scholarship are due Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Applications can be downloaded on this page and are also in the Guidance Offices of all applicable schools.



Wyoming Counties shared information about the programs the organization provides for our older folks.

Our speaker was Officer Jessica Surkin, Public Information Officer for the Hazleton City Police Department, who discussed a number of programs, sponsored by the police in the city.

Kim McNulty, Chair-2025 Hazleton Rotary Essay Contest, announced that Sharan Parikh, a junior at MMI Preparatory School will receive the $100 prize from Hazleton Rotary for his winning entry in the Hazleton Rotary Essay Contest
His essay has been forwarded to Rotary District 7410 (Northeast PA) for the opportunity to win the essay prizes of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place.
