Alan Whitaker was installed as the 104th President of  Hazleton Rotary  at the annual President’s Party, along with the induction of board members and officers. 
 
Alan has been a member of Hazleton Rotary for 32  years and was sponsored for membership by Bill Spear. 
This is the first time a Rotarian will be serving a second term as President as Alan was president for 2019-2020.
Alan currently serves as a member of the board of directors. He was chairperson of the annual Salvation Army bell ringing project, past chair of the spaghetti dinner, served on the Rotary Foundation development committee, annual Wine and Beer Festival Committee and is active in many other Rotary projects. 
His goals for the upcoming year are  to continue the growth of the club’s membership and have a positive impact on the community by expanding our current  projects. 
Alan is a Senior Financial Advisor and his office is located in the Markle Building in downtown Hazleton.
He graduated from MMI Preparatory School, Freeland and Penn State University and resides in Sugarloaf with his wife Lisa and sons, Alec and Jace.
He is honored to be continuing a family legacy by accepting the position of President of Hazleton Rotary. His grandfather, Arthur J. Whitaker Sr. served as club president in 1950-51 and his father, Arthur J. Whitaker Jr., served as president in 1985-86.
Whitaker will officially take over the reins of the club on July 1. 
In addition to Alan, the following Rotarians will be sworn into office:  President Elect-Joan Buffington,  Vice-President-Paul Oswald, Secretary-Lani Drobnock, Treasurer -Pat Owens, Jr., Sergeant-at-Arms-Pat Ward, and 1st Immediate Past President-Michele Kushmeder.
Members of the Board will be Nina Bonus,  Joe Cammisa,  Anne Frey, Rossanna Gabriel, Katherine Silfa, Neal DeAngelo, III, Mark Ondishin and Stephen Seach.
