Community Grant Program Application
All local non-profit organizations and agencies who are interested in applying for the 2018-19 Hazleton Rotary “Service Above Self” Community Grant Program:  Applications must be COMPLETED, SUBMITTED, AND RETURNED no later than NOVEMBER 1, 2018.
The 2018-19 Hazleton Rotary “Service Above Self” Community Grant Program is intended to benefit organizations and agencies in the Greater Hazleton Area. The total amount of funding requested from Hazleton Rotary cannot exceed $3,000 per application. The proposed project must be completed within 12 months of receipt of the grant funds, which will be available in early 2019.
Preference will be given to applications that address at least one of Hazleton Rotary’s four goals:
  • Helping children of all ages in our area to grow educationally and socially
  • Supporting disadvantaged youth
  • Helping veterans and first responders
  • Providing support for area seniors
Hazleton Rotary is specifically looking for projects that also support at least one of Rotary International’s six areas of focus:
  • Peace & Conflict Resolution,
  • Disease Prevention & Treatments
  • Water & Sanitation
  • Maternal & Child Health
  • Basic Education & Literacy
  • Economic & Community Development
Attributes of the projects that Hazleton Rotary will support include:
  • Project is well planned
  • Project shows a direct, preferably measurable, impact to the grantee organization and our community
  • Funding is designated for a specific project or a program.  We will not fund an organization's routine operating expenses and we will not fund salaries.  Applications asking for this type of funding will NOT be considered
  • Project makes a significant impact despite the amount of money spent
  • Project enhances the identity/visibility of Hazleton Rotary within our community
Organizations may be requested to present their project in person to the Hazleton Rotary Project Committee; however this does not guarantee approval of funds. Presentations should be no longer than five minutes.
