Sherry Willams, Executive Director of the American Red Cross was our speaker. The Hazleton Chapter is one of 13 chapters that provides programs and services to the Northeast Pennsylvania Region. The Hazleton Chapter covers portions of three counties: Luzerne, Carbon and Schuylkill and provides food and shelter in emergency and disaster-related situations, assists members of our armed forces and their families, blood services ,teaches lifesaving skills, and more. Red Cross is a charitable organization, not a government agency, dependingon volunteers and the generosity of the public. Paul Brenner was program chairman and discussed an upcoming “reverse raffle” fundraising project to benefit Red Cross.
