Congratulations to our very own Dominic J. De Spirito Sr., who  received the Auctioneer Hall of Fame Award for 2015 from the Northeast Chapter of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association.
Dominic also received the award in 2013. He formed Double D Auctions Inc. in 2012 with Kathleen Wilkinson Coll after earning his auctioneer license. They began auctioning at a building on South Church Street, then moved to the Tresckow firehall.

They now own a building at 27 S. Kennedy Drive in McAdoo, where auctions are held every Friday night. He also holds auctions at 10th Street Marketplace in Bloomsburg and once a month at the Freeland Market Place.
Both their families help at the auctions. De Spirito’s son, Dominic Jr., and Coll’s sister, Lynn, are serving as apprentices to become auctioneers.
De Spirito served as president of the Northeast Chapter for two years and prior to that as vice president for two years.
Locally, he has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Salvation Army, and has held many volunteer positions with both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
He is a member of the Hazleton Rotary Club and is a life member of the American Legion. He also served as the football commissioner for the former Erne Valente Football League.
De Spirito worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years, retiring as postmaster of Milnesville, then worked as a professional Scouter with the Boy Scouts of America, serving in Williamsport, Bloomsburg and Mechanicsburg before retiring in 2006
