The Rotary Club of Hazleton hosted a Distracted Driving Safety Simulator experience for seniors at the Hazleton Area Career Center on Thursday, February 12. (Unfortunately, due to a school weather cancellation, this event did not occur at... Hazleton Area High School, as planned). This annual Rotary service project was started in 2007 as a pre-Prom event to discourage students from drinking and driving which so often leads to tragedy. The new simulator experience of 2015 also covered texting while driving. This year there were five simulators available, instead of one, allowing more students to actually participate. The simulator was brought to the area through Lehigh Valley Health Network and Bill McQuilken, Trauma Prevention Coordinator.  Thanks to project chairman Jason Brenner and the Rotarians who assisted at the project!
